Church is much more than a Sunday morning experience. Join a ministry to really get to know your church family, and to make serving the Lord a bigger part of  your Christian experience. We encourage you to use the gifts and abilities he’s given to carry out his work through ministry.

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not have all the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:4-5

Food Table

Our Mission is to provide families and individuals with affordable food and to make a difference in our community, one food box at a time.Regardless of your income level, most of us are searching for value and money saving ideas to stretch our food dollars at home. The family food budget is one of the largest costs in a household. Our food boxes offer a unique solution to cutting household costs without sacrificing food quality

Nursing Home Ministry

The Nursing Home Ministry reaches out to the lonely and often neglected residents of nursing homes throughout New York City. Volunteers visit with the elderly and disabled on a weekly or monthly basis to help ease the difficulties of their everyday living. The call of this ministry is to develop relationships with the elderly by ministering to them through fellowship and bible studies. Ministry members find time to talk, read, and sing to residents, developing friendships through time spent ministering the love of Christ to those approaching their final days.

The WMC Men's ministry is a core group of men, partnering with their pastor, to invite and initiate spiritual growth opportunities for all men of the church. Everyone has different gifts, graces and areas of interest. Therefore, opportunities for participation would include diverse ministries of the church, such as prayer groups, missions, Bible studies, retreats, workshops/seminars, leading and participating on committees, teaching Sunday school classes, youth ministries, mentoring etc, etc. The focus is not inward but outward to all men, assisting them to engage the process of spiritual growth.

We read in Proverbs: "Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life" (Proverbs16:31). In many ways, God is blessing The Westchester  Methodist Church with the gift of longer life. With the increasing numbers of older members, the WMC is actively involved in providing opportunities for older adults to grow in faith. Ministry by, with and for older adults is viewed as an essential and intentional component of the church and its mission.

Youth Ministries calls for passion, patience, and faithfulness – pointing out the sacred in the midst of the chaos of adolescence and walking faithfully with young people as they transition from child to young adult. Youth Ministries is a bridging ministry of education, connection, formation, and hopefully, transformation.

Responding to the spiritual needs of teens is about building trusting relationships. Westchester Methodist Church strives to walk with young people on their journeys from childhood to adulthood, recognizing their gifts for ministry, their questions about spirituality, and their struggles to adapt to a world that's constantly changing around them.

The Youth Ministry is a well structured Program of Spiritual, Social and Educational guidance for youth ages 12-18.  Small Groups sessions allow teens(and pre-teens) to come together and talk more in depth about life ,faith issues and any other issues that they may have

Youth and Young Sdults.PNG

In this ministry, we share in the lives of young adults as we stand beside them to strengthen them in their walk with the Lord and pray with them as they seek guidance from the Scriptures in all they undertake. Young adults (ages 18 to 30), although they’re grouped together, are often at very different stages in their lives. They’re married, partnered, single, with children, divorced, widowed. They leave high school and enter the work force, the military, or college.

We know the struggles that young adults can face to lead a godly and uncompromised life when everything around speaks against that.

We are here to support you in all things and aid your development socially, spiritually and otherwise.

Mission to

Liberia

Since 1989, two civil wars have torn apart Liberia, and while the wars ended in 2003, the country is still undergoing reconstruction. Many of the Liberians returning home are poor, under-educated, and confronted with debilitating inflation. The majority of youth are unemployed and disillusioned .

The Mission to Liberia, coordinated by Christiana James, collects school supplies, computers and other supplies that makes the world of difference for the children of Dorpoh.
